Editing Photography (U8: P4, P5, M4)

P4 (U8): Organise the photographic images and apply image processing techniques to meet the client's brief

Image processing techniques

In the screenshots above you can see I have saved the image as a JPEG file format as this file type is the best for both print and online platforms, it will appear more clear and not pixelated in this format as the file is less compressed. The file is still slightly compressed to ensure it can be accessed online via websites or social media. The images will not need to be blown up for billboard sized images and therefore this compression won't impact the appearance or quality of the image.

In the screenshots above I have changed this image to a PNG file type which is good for the purpose as it wont lose quality each time it is resaved and opened. Therefore if the image needs to be edited several times then the quality wont be altered or lost with this file format.

M4 (U8): Classify the photographic images by embedding metadata

In this image you are able to see how I have been able to copyright my image and provide additional details about where it was taken, and by who (me). This will prove beneficial as other photographers will be deterred from stealing my images for personal gain. Interestingly, I have been able to complete this copyright process via Photoshop across all of my images to ensure they all remain my property.
